House Speaker Mike Johnson (R-LA) on Tuesday responded to leftwing outrage over a new proposal to ban biological men from women’s restrooms, locker rooms, and changing rooms on Capitol Hill.
“A man is a man, and a woman is a woman. And a man cannot become a woman,” Johnson declared, making his stance clear amid growing backlash from the radical left over what restroom incoming transgender Representative-elect Sarah McBride will be able to use.
Earlier in the day, Johnson was asked by leftist reporters whether or not Sarah McBride is a man or a woman and if he plans on putting a bill to exclude biological males from women’s restrooms into the rules package.
In response to the former, Johnson stated, “I’m not going to engage in silly debates about this,” noting that it’s ” an issue that Congress has never had to address before.”
He clarified that “we will provide appropriate accommodation for every member of Congress,” indicating that a nongendered restroom could be provided for McBride if he refuses to use the men’s restroom.

This comes as Rep. Nancy Mace (R-SC) introduced a resolution that would bar biological males from using women’s bathrooms and other female-only facilities on Capitol Hill, and leftists are losing their minds.
Mace spoke to The Gateway Pundit on Tuesday evening about her resolution and responded to the “insane” people who have threatened her life over the proposal.
Undeterred, Mace told The Gateway Pundit, “This fight starts here, it starts now, and I’m not going to stop with Capitol Hill. I’ll be filing multiple bills to protect women and girls all across the country.”
Johnson came out earlier, telling the press, “The answer is so obvious” and that “a man cannot become a woman.”

Johnson: Hello, everybody. I just want to make a statement for all of you here and be very clear. I was asked a question this morning at the leadership gaggle, and I rejected the premise because the answer is so obvious.
For anybody who doesn’t know my well-established record on this issue, let me be unequivocally clear: a man is a man, and a woman is a woman. And a man cannot become a woman.
That said, I also believe that’s what Scripture teaches, what I just said, but I also believe that we treat everybody with dignity, and so, we can do and believe all those things at the same time, and I wanted to make that clear for everybody because there’s lots of questions. But that’s where I stand. I’ve stood there my whole life, and those are facts.
