Here’s the latest blow to the lawless Democrat-Socialist party and their tired media machine.
President Trump fired 17 controversial Inspectors General in a Friday night purge to punctuate the end of his first week in office.
Real Clear Politics reporter Susan Crabtree explained that many of these IGs, who are in a position to identify and clean up waste and abuse, have long histories of whitewashing reports and playing politics.
Trump did keep current Department of Homeland Security Inspector General Joseph V. Cuffari Jr., who is conducting multiple investigations into the Secret Service failures that led to two assassination attempts on President Trump’s life.

I’ve covered these IGs for years — and trust me when I say, even though they are charged with ferreting out… pic.twitter.com/ILwBW2NRxY

In response to President Trump’s move, a group representing federal inspectors general released a letter addressed to the White House rejecting as unlawful President Trump’s mass firing of over a dozen IGs Friday night.
The letter was signed by one of the IGs fired by Trump, Mike Ware, who lectured the White House to consult with legal counsel.
The letter cited a law of dubious constitutionality passed by a Democrat-led Congress in 2022 mandating IGs can only be fired when Congress is given thirty days’ notification of the reasons. Inspectors general are appointed by presidents, subject to Senate confirmation, and are executive branch employees.
However, there appears to be a precedent for firing Inspector Generals, and it goes back to Barack Obama.
Barack Obama fired an Inspector General without any pushback from the legacy media.
In 2009, Barack Obama fired Inspector General Gerald Walpin after the IG identified millions of dollars in AmeriCorps funds that were wasted or misspent.
The man in charge of AmeriCorps was a top Obama supporter and friend, Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson.
Mayor Kevin Johnson, an Obama supporter, used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson, and even wash his car.
Barack Obama was defending his close and corrupt California buddy.
The AP reported at the time.
President Barack Obama says he has lost confidence in the inspector general who investigates AmeriCorps and other national service programs and has told Congress he is removing him from the position.
Obama’s move follows an investigation by IG Gerald Walpin of Sacramento Mayor Kevin Johnson, who is an Obama supporter and former NBA basketball star, into the misuse of federal grants by a nonprofit education group that Johnson headed…
The president didn’t offer any more explanation, but White House Counsel Gregory Craig, in a letter to Sen. Charles Grassley, R-Iowa, cited the U.S. attorney’s criticism of Walpin to an integrity committee for inspectors general…
…Grassley said Walpin had identified millions of dollars in AmeriCorps funds that were wasted or misspent and “it appears he has been doing a good job.”
The IG found that Johnson, a former all-star point guard for the Phoenix Suns, had used AmeriCorps grants to pay volunteers to engage in school-board political activities, run personal errands for Johnson and even wash his car.
Glenn Reynolds noted at the time: “Under a Republican President, this would be a huge scandal.”
Back in 2009, Michelle Malkin found the scandal even linked to First Lady Michelle Obama.
