DHS Secretary Kristi Noem landed in riot-scarred Los Angeles on Thursday and immediately put the nation on notice: the IRS is now involved, and the hunt for the financial backers of violent unrest has officially begun.
Noem, flanked by law enforcement and federal officials, announced that the Internal Revenue Service has been deployed to trace the money behind the chaos — including potential funding from radical NGOs, militant unions, and other shadowy groups.
“We also have the IRS here, helping us track how these violent protesters are funded—what NGOs are out there, what unions, what other individuals may be funding these violent perpetrators who infiltrate protests,” Noem said during the press conference.
“They take people who may be wanting to come and be peaceful, but instead turn these into very violent activities that go after law enforcement. That’s just simply not acceptable.”

Earlier, The Gateway Pundit reported that the FBI arrested the man who went viral last week for distributing military-grade “bionic shield” face masks to violent demonstrators in downtown Los Angeles.
“ARRESTED: Alejandro Theodoro Orellana was arrested this morning by FBI Los Angeles on an allegation of Conspiracy to Commit Civil Disorders (18 USC 371) for distributing face shields to suspected rioters on Tuesday. We are moving quickly to identify and arrest those involved in organizing and/or supporting civil disorder in Los Angeles,” U.S. Attorney for the Central District of California Bill Essayli said in a statement.
Local reporter Elex Michaelson of FOX LA captured the moment protesters swarmed the trucks to grab the gear, noting, “It certainly seems like gear you’d wear if you’re preparing for conflict with police. Who is funding this?”
Rep. Anna Paulina Luna (R-FL) confirmed that the Committee will issue a formal document request to Neville Roy Singham over his alleged financial support of the Party for Socialism and Liberation (PSL) — the extremist Marxist group believed to be behind the violent anti-ICE riots in Los Angeles.
“Thanks to the investigative work of Data Republican, House Oversight will issue a formal document request to Neville Singham regarding his funding of a communist group linked to the LA riots and the CCP,” Luna wrote on X.
She continued, “IF HE REFUSES TO APPEAR, HE WILL BE SUBPOENAED, AND IF HE IGNORES THAT HE WILL BE REFERRED TO THE DOJ FOR PROSECUTION.”
Senator Josh Hawley (R-MO) has also launched an explosive investigation into the growing chaos engulfing Los Angeles and other Democrat-run cities.
Hawley accuses CHIRLA of providing financial and logistical support for mob-style unrest, stating plainly: “Bankrolling civil unrest is not protected speech. It is aiding and abetting criminal conduct.”
