Are the troubles surrounding Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) extending to members of her family?
As CBS News reported, Rep. Ilhan Omar (D-MN) alleged this morning during an interview with a local news outlet that ICE agents pulled her son over and demanded that he produce documentation to prove that he was a U.S. citizen.
Once he produced his passport identification, they let him go.
“Yesterday, after he made a stop at Target, he did get pulled over by ICE agents, and once he was able to produce his passport ID, they did let him go,” Omar claimed in an interview with Esme Murphy on WCCO Sunday Morning.
Omar also claimed that immigration agents previously entered a mosque attended by her son. The agents supposedly left without incident.
The congresswoman said after that encounter, she expressed her concerns to her son that he is being targeted for his race and faith.
“I had to remind him just how worried I am, because all of these areas that they are talking about are areas where he could possibly find himself in, and they are racially profiling, they are looking for young men who look Somali that they think are undocumented,” Omar stated, according to CBS News.
But if ICE agents are truly keeping an eye on Omar’s son, there is probably a good reason for it. And the reason has nothing to do with his religion or race.
While he has not, at this point, been accused of any crimes, the same cannot be said about his mother.
As TGP readers know, Omar is being investigated for immigration fraud for allegedly marrying her brother to help him obtain American citizenship.
Border Czar Tom Homan said in an interview Monday night on Newsmax that he had asked for the immigration records of Omar to be pulled for his review over credible allegations that the Somali refugee married her brother to help him gain residency in the United States.
The Gateway Pundit was the first to report on Omar’s alleged marriage to her brother.
In 2017, Rep. Omar swore under penalty of perjury while divorcing her husband (brother?) that she hadn’t seen Ahmed N. Elmi since 2011 and didn’t know anyone who could help her contact him.
But evidence emerged in September 2019 that Rep. Ilhan Omar may have indeed married her brother, and that her real name may be Ilhan Nur Said.
A resurfaced tweet from 2013 links to a now-deleted Instagram post in which she refers to her father by the name Nur Said.
The tweet was later deleted after the news broke, but it was saved before it was deleted.
