In the middle of multiple peace negotiations in the Ukraine, Iran and Gaza, dozens tariff and trade negotiations, and a series of territorial disputes like in Greenland and the Panama Canal, there arose yesterday (17) a development of a more traditional foreign relation piece of news dealing with the US’ ‘special relationship’ with the United Kingdom.
President Donald J. Trump is set travel to Britain in September, paying a visit to Windsor Castle to spend time with the Royal family.
The Telegraph reported:
“The UK is preparing to host the US president and first lady for a high-profile visit at the end of summer, as the Government seeks to reaffirm transatlantic ties in the wake of his trade war.”

Prime Minister Keir Starmer and Trump have discussed the visit during a telephone call, and a plan is close to being agreed to.
The venue of the visit is set to be Windsor Castle, rather than the Scottish Castles of Balmoral or Dumfries House, as previously floated.
Last night (17), Trump confirmed the plans to visit the UK.
“Asked about the trip by The Telegraph, he said: “It’s a very great honor. And I think they’re setting a date for September. It’s an honor to be a friend of Charles. I have great respect for King Charles and the family… William…’
‘I don’t know how it could be bigger than the last one’, he continued. ‘The last one, as you know, was incredible, but they said it’s going to be even more important’.”

Prince William and his family live within walking distance of Windsor Castle, so he may be helping in the hosting of Trump.
“An official US visit to the castle would likely mean that Prince William will be involved in hosting duties, along with the Princess if she is well enough. The King, as head of state, would lead Britain’s charm offensive. He and the Queen have previously entertained the Trumps in the UK, and the men are in regular contact via letter.
[…] During a photocall at the White House with Sir Keir in February, Mr. Trump publicly accepted the King’s invitation to enjoy his hospitality in Britain, saying: ‘The answer is yes. We look forward to being there and honoring the King, honoring the country’.”
