A large Christian Trump-supporting Michigan family, who once starred in a TLC reality show, has suffered an unimaginable tragedy.
The local sheriff’s office also released a statement on the accident:
The Tuscola County Sheriff’s Office responded to a 2 vehicle “Unknown” crash on Deckerville Rd near Hurds Corner Rd on 09-26-2025 at 2102 hours. Callers on scene advised there were multiple injuries.
TCSO arrived on scene with multiple agencies (Fire, EMS and Police) and rendered aide.
TCSO learned a 55 y/o Florida man was driving a loaded commercial semi truck, with 1 female passenger, southbound on Hurds Corner Rd when it failed to stop at a stop sign. The Semi truck collided with a Jeep traveling eastbound on Deckerville Rd. The eastbound vehicle was occupied by 8 Cass City Residents.
Of the 8 occupants in the Jeep, 3 were pronounced deceased on scene. All other occupants of the Jeep were transported to respective hospitals by helicopter and MMR, some in critical condition.
The driver and passenger of the semi truck were transported to the hospital for minor injuries. The driver of the semi truck was subsequently arrested and a report is being forwarded to the Prosecutor for formal charges.
This remains an active investigation and names will not be released at this time. We are asking the public to please pay more attention when driving. We are having far too many crashes that are destroying people’s lives.
The Caro, Michigan Putman clan, who once starred in their own TLC reality television show, were struck by a semi-truck driven by a 55-year-old Florida man on Friday night. According to police, the semi-truck driver blew through a stop sign and struck their Jeep filled with 8 family members. Three of the family members, including the matriarch and patriarch of the family, Bill and Barb Putman, were instantly killed.
In addition to Bill “Papa” Putman and his wife, Barb, or “Neenee,” their daughter-in-law, Megan (shown in Facebook photo below), the wife of Dr. Blake Putman, was also killed in the horrific crash in Cass City near their home.
Five additional members of the Putman family were also inside the vehicle that was smashed into and were rushed to the hospital by ambulance and air-lifted from the scene by helicopter.
Noah Putman (left), Dr. Blake Putman (standing next to his now-deceased wife, Megan), and Lillian “Lulu” Putman (right) are all being treated for serious injuries. A video was recently shared on the Putman family Facebook page, celebrating Lulu’s 13th birthday.
The Putman family released a photo on Facebook of Noah Putman, asking for prayers for his recovery. Noah, whose mother was killed in the accident, is reportedly fighting for his life in the hospital.
Gia Putman, daughter of Brandon Putman is also in the hospital and is in serious condition. The Putman family has asked for everyone’s prayers.
Yesterday, less than 24 hours after the tragic accident, the popular Christian family shared the following statement, asking for prayers for the injured members of their family and to remind people that God is in control:
Dear Friends and Family,
I come to you with a heavy heart asking for your prayers. Our family was in a tragic car accident and we lost Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan. They have gone home to be with the Lord. Please keep Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia in your prayers as they remain in the hospital, we are asking for complete healing and strength for each of them.
My entire family Papa, Neenee, Billy, Jen, Brandon, Kacie, Blake, Megan, Jamie, Blair, myself (Isabelle), Abby, Emma, Addison, Bella, Mercy, Gabby, Noah, Mya, Nova, Lulu, Alena, Gia, Jonah, Eli, Solomon, Uriah, Samson, Luke, and Anna-all proclaim that Jesus Christ is our Lord and Savior. He is our hope, our peace, and our salvation. Even in this time of heartbreak, we rest in knowing that God is in control.
We are holding onto the peace Jesus promised in John 14:27: “Peace I leave with you; my peace I give to you… Do not let your hearts be troubled and do not be afraid.” And we trust the truth of Romans 8:28: “And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to His purpose. ” Our greatest comfort is found in the Gospel itself-that Jesus died for our sins so that we may have eternal life with Him (John 3:16,
Romans 5:8).Because of that sacrifice, we know Papa, Neenee, and Aunt Megan are not gone forever. They are alive and whole in Heaven, standing before Jesus, hearing the words we all long to hear:
“Well done, my good and faithful servant” (Matthew 25:23).
We ask for your continued prayers for Uncle Blake, Lulu, Alena, Noah, and Gia as they recover, and for our whole family as we walk through this deep loss. Even in this valley, we will praise Him. We trust that His plan is perfect, and that one day, we will be reunited in Heaven.

The senior Putman couple owned the large home that they constructed so their children and grandchildren could all live with them. Their unusual living arrangements attracted the attention of the TLC network, which produced a reality TV show about the close-knit family.

Back in 2019, Bill Putman Sr invited me to meet for coffee in Frankenmuth, Michigan. I remember being surprised when I walked in and there were seven Putnam family members all sitting at the table! Just by chance, I had brought my 18-year-old daughter, Parker, who was working on the Trump Campaign. That first meeting was pretty intense! More like an interview than anything else! The Putmans we learned, were very serious about Jesus, family, and politics. We have loved to watch their fierce loyalty to each other and an incredible work Ethic. Bill Jr and his family have stayed close with Parker and I know that has been a blessing in her life. We haven’t always been on the same side of candidates or issues, but I can say with experience that if the Putmans say “we’re here to help,” they show up with a powerful TEAM. Our family will not stop praying for the entire family; only faith can get them through this.
