President Trump on Friday commented on his Thursday meeting with Venezuelan opposition leader Maria Corina Machado, telling reporters that he was “very, very impressed” and that he would be “talking again” with her.
As The Gateway Pundit reported, Machado made her first visit with President Trump in the White House on Thursday, following the ouster of Nicolas Maduro.
During the meeting, she gave President Trump her 2025 Nobel Peace Prize, which Trump should have won if the Nobel Committee weren’t full of leftists.

The next day, a reporter questioned why the President would “want someone else’s Nobel Prize,” and he replied, “She said, you know, you’ve ended eight wars, and nobody deserves this prize more than— in history— than you do, and I thought it was a very nice gesture.”
“And by the way, I think she’s a very fine woman, and we’ll be talking again,” the President added.
Reporter: Yesterday, you accepted Maria Machado’s Nobel Prize medal. What do you intend to do with it, and why would you want someone else’s Nobel Prize?
Trump: Well, she offered it to me. I thought it was very nice. She said, you know, you’ve ended eight wars, and nobody deserves this prize more than— in history— than you do, and I thought it was a very nice gesture. And by the way, I think she’s a very fine woman, and we’ll be talking again.

Trump was later asked why he aligned himself, following Maduro’s arrest, with Maduro’s Vice President Delcy Rodriguez, whom he said was “essentially willing to do what we think is necessary to make Venezuela great again,” instead of Machado, who he previously said did not have the support or respect of the Venezuelan people to lead the country.
He likened it to the 2003 regime change in Iraq that overthrew Saddam Hussein. “If you ever remember a place called Iraq, where everybody was fired, every single person, the police, the generals, everybody was fired, and they ended up being ISIS,” Trump told reporters.
Still, he noted that he had a “great meeting” and has “a lot of respect for” Machado. “And she has respect, obviously, for me and our country, and she gave me her Nobel Prize,” Trump continued.
“I never met her before, and I was very, very impressed. She’s a really, this is a fine woman.“

Reporter: Why align with Delcy Rodriguez and the remnants of the Maduro regime and not with Machado, who has the support of the Venezuelan people?
Trump: Well, if you ever remember a place called Iraq, where everybody was fired, every single person, the police, the generals, everybody was fired, and they ended up being ISIS. Instead of just getting down to business, they ended up being ISIS. So I remember that, but I’ll tell you, I had a great meeting yesterday by a person who I have a lot of respect for, and she has respect, obviously, for me and our country, and she gave me her Nobel Prize. But I’ll tell you what, I got to know her. I never met her before, and I was very, very impressed. She’s a really, this is a fine woman.
